Barebones Kit:
Barebone computer kits or Starter Systems are a combination of the basic computer
components that are required to build a system or upgrade your PC. A
cheap barebones computer kit is a great way to get the base parts without the hassle of having to pick
them yourself and check for compatibility issues. Going with a barebone
gives you complete control over your other core components - such as
memory size, hard drive, DVD drives, etc. - and lets you find the right
combination to fit your budget. |

What does a barebones kit come with?
A computer barebones kit
will typically come with the base parts you will need to start a system
build. While specifications can vary, barebones typicall come with a
Case, Motherboard, Processor, Fan, and Power Supply. Memory is one of
the components that usually must be purchased separately since 1GB is not enough for many, and not everyone requires 8GB of memory. An optical drive will still be required for OS installation, and day to day CD/DVD usage. A hard drive will also need to be purchased separately to store all of your data and personal information. Lastly, you will require an Operating System. Most people choose Windows, but since these systems do not come with Windows licenses attached to them they can make great Linux barebones kits because of this.
Always check your barebone kit specifications to see what the package
comes with. |
