Does this item come with internal cables?
By Customer Service on December 18, 2011

This unit has the built-in USB 3.0 header cables that you will plug into your USB 3.0 compatible motherboard.

Those are the only cables built into the device.

Are these ports backward-compatible with USB 2.0 and.or 1.1?

By Customer Service on December 20, 2011

Answer:
Yes, USB 3.0 is its backward compatibility with USB 2.0 or 1.1; you need a new cable and new host adapter to achieve USB 3.0, but can use your standard USB 2.0 cable for the typical USB 2.0 performance.

I see two cables for 4 ports. Do two ports share one connection to motherboard? Could four 3.0 devices run simultaneously, or would there be [irq?] conlicts?
By Customer Service on July 25, 2012

Answer:
Each channel will run two devices, similar to older USB connections having two channels on one header.

By Wayne Ferrier from NOLA on December 28, 2012
