Quieter than stock fan at low setting. It's actually pretty nice for the price.
First of all, i paired this with an asus am1i-a mobo, and you should too. Because, this is right now the only am1 mobo which allows overclock. The only thing that i was worried about with this heatsink/fan combo is that it would "hit" my ram, but it doesn't. There's room for both. Oh, and this cooler doesn't use the stock "push-pin" mounting system. Instead, it uses two screws which much be fed in from behind the mobo. So, in order to install this, you'll have you take your motherboard out.The lowest speed setting of this fan is just over 100 rpm, and that makes it extremely quiet when turned low. Plus, thanks to the good design (and low power consumption of am1 chips), i've never needed the fan to go above the minimum speed, even while gaming and my athlon 5350 overclocked to 2.205ghz. My system never goes past the 30's (celsius), as far as heat goes. (i as well have a 60mm case fan.)what's more is that this heatsink comes with thermal paste pre-installed and a case sticker that says something like "silently cooled by gelid." all-in-all, it's pretty schnazzy.
