As expected. Very quiet especially with speed control set low. We will see if they last longer than sleeve bearing fans...

Quiet, yes. Controlled I dunno.
I chose this fan for several reasons. It was made to be silent and it came with the silicone mounts that isolate them from the case. Not to mention the included metal grids and ball bearings for what i hope to be long life. I reserve my comments on the sl uncontrolled model to comment on lifespan. I outfitted my case with three of these fans, one controlled (per the review your looking at) and two uncontrolled. Well simply place my first impression is that these are indeed silent. With three going full tilt i hear no fan noise. So much so i can't disclose if i am doing any adjusting with the adjustment knobs. One more adjustment knob is included on my case. Needless to say i leave them at full tilt as i can't hear them anyway. You might fair gaze into saving yourself a bit of cash and fair recede with the sl uncontrolled unless you love myself fair wanted to fill a extra card place on your case with another knob sticking out the back of your computer that actually does something. This fan also came at a reasonable price. Had i gotten any other fan and the silicon mounts separately it would have cost more. I also read several reviews that said the mounts were difficult to install. Ill give it to these folk there was a awful lack of direction on how to employ them. I could be incorrect but i suspect they were using them backwards. I had no troubles installing them by putting the silicon mount in the fan then lining them up with the holes in the case. All pull nubs stuck through and got pulled from the outside of the case and settled in draw fair fine. Fair remember thick groove = fan, thin groove = case. Mind you, if you are going for sleek exterior of your computer these are not your fans as the pull nubs stick out of the case. In my case the only fan mount that did not have an exterior cover was in the back. If your worried about sleek looks i believe the nexus mounts that originally came with my case worked in the other direction had a flat terminate to recede on the outside and a long pull nub to acquire the fan to mount with out too much trouble. The nexus fans on the other hand that came with my case are why i was buying these, they didn't even create it a year and helped cause a bit of an internal meltdown. As for airflow i cant extremely comment too much. Three of them running on my computer is the max that fit on my case. Whilest i sit in my hot rarely air conditioned house the temperature indicator on my case has an ever so slight purple tinge to the blue suggesting low temperatures. The probe that controls said indicator is up on the cpu heat sink. (fyi blue = best temp, violet = 45-55, red > 65 degrees celsius. Then again i'm not doing and major over clocking that would require lots of airflow and cooling. These seem to execute a fine job for my needs.
