This heatsink is worth every nickel
The motherboard is an asus rampage v extreme. Ssd is a 512gb samsung 950pro m.2 this heatsink is worth every nickel. Running temperatures went from 120f to 102f without adding a fan. With a fan added, temperatures dropped to 89.6f all temperatures taken from the corsair link program. Ambient room temperature is 72f. I had no trouble installing the front and back heat spreaders. I will say this is a tight fit on the asus rampage v extreme. Additionally, the gtx 1080 seahawk covers more than half of the heatsink and the clearance is about 2 mm.

Works well with nice asthetics!
Just got mine in today. It was very easy to install on my samsung 960 evo, just follow the instructions.Pros: color, look, feel, temperature difference compared to stockcons: the anodization on the aluminum rubs off very easy from the clips. I was able to midigate the scratches using the toolkit i have, but still a few scratches from the clips of course are covered by the clips themselves. Another con is the ekwb insignia was protected by a aluminum/plastic sheet to prevent damage, while it serves its purpose it's rather hard to peel off having little to no fingernail so i had to use a razer for just enough leverage to peel it off and prevent scratching.Aside from those cons, this is one of the best purchases for my pc i have made and serves itself well. Ekwb really hold up to their name for build quality!

Solid heatsink! Pain to install...
I won't lie... The installation process was a bit of a pain, but it looks good does a great job of keeping a 960 evo m.2 cool. I decided to give this heatsink five stars anyways because it does exactly what it was designed to do. My temps under heavy read/write loads dropped from ~70-80c to ~50-60c in a case that doesn't have the best airflow, so i can't complain.It's important that you know that the ekwb heatsink comes with two different thicknesses of adhesive thermal pads (0.5 mm and 1 mm). If you're planning on installing the heatsink on a 960 evo, it is highly likely you'll have to use the 0.5mm thermal pads to cover chips on both sides of the drive board. I simply could not get the heatsink clipped onto the drive using the 1 mm thermal pads on either side of the drive board.

Use at your own risk
It ruined my samsung 960 evo 1tb nvme. The heatsink came with no instructions, just a pictographic diagram. Once the heatsink was attached, it was visibly warping the board. Tried booting it and it was greeted with a no boot device detected message. The bios can see that something is attached, but no longer reads it as a samsung device. It is a nice heatsink, excellent build quality, and looks great. But the way it mounts needs to be reconsidered as i believe that is what caused the failure of my nvme. It is the build quality that caused me to not give this a one star review.

Manufactured with "too tight" of tolerances but they are functional for dropping the overall operating temperatures.
I dropped about 7 degrees c on the 256gb samsung 950pro directly below the video card on the evga z370 model e379 classified k. I dropped 10 degrees c on the 1tb samsung 960evo that is offset one slot below the video card. That's all great; however, the baseplate that is to be installed with the tape and retention clips was so tight/hard to install or actually assemble as intended, i was intensely afraid i was going to damage the m.2 nvme ssd. I got it all together on the 256gb first ( lower investment to break ) and then found it was impossible to install because the ssd retention screw was to short to reach the motherboard screw hole. I ended up not installing the baseplates and just going with the top sink, 1mm top tape, ssd, .5mm bottum tape, and finally the retention clips. I added some small rubber bands to firm it all up because the clips alone were no longer "tight" enough for my taste. Maybe some longer screws would have allowed it all to be installed as intended but it was "really" tight and i was really afraid i was going to cause damage to $600 worth of ssd's. I don't know what i think ekwb should do to make this right! Maybe specify the their product shouldn't be used on the evga z370 boards? That doesn't seem right though because i would think the same problem exists with all the other asus, msi, gigabyte, etc z370 boards. Maybe they should send me some slightly larger clips and longer screws or some other solution. As they are intended to be installed just doesn't work. I hope i'm not going to damage or short out the motherboard without using the backplates! I'm not really inclined to just return them as they do work, just not as their equipment is designed. I'm really not satisfied and i think a service representative should address this!

It works!
Bought this item as i was having issues with my samsung evo 860 temps reaching 67c (temp 1) and 96c (temp 2) on hw monitor.After installing, the temps have improved a lot at 52c/74c on full load. Note though that i live in a tropical country so the ambient temperature is much higher.
