It just works.
I bought this to expand a machine running centos 6 (linux). I wasn't 100% sure it would work, but it was cheap, so i gave it a shot. Stuck it in the pci-e slot and fired the machine up. Linux saw the card and loaded the generic serial driver. All 8 ports work flawlessly. My only complaints, and these are really nit-picky, is that 1) the octopus cable terminates in ports with screws, not with nuts, so i had to get a set of nuts to lock my serial cables in (4-40 x 6mm), and 2) the octopus cables are a bit shorter than i'd like - just a bit longer that a foot or so.Bottom line, if it works in linux, it should work in anything. If you need a multiport card (and the precious few of you that do are in a dwindling group), get this. It's cheap and it works.
