Description

APC Essential SurgeArrest 6 Outlet with Ethernet Protection, 120V. Reliable and safe protection from lightning, surges and spikes. The APC SurgeArrest Essential series represents the primary level of surge protection that should be present on any of your computers and household electronics.

As one of the world’s largest and most respected power protection designers and manufacturers, APC is relied upon daily for power protection and availability. APC products offer the maximum level of protection, safety, convenience, and reliability.

Protect your devices from dangerous surges and spikes Full lifetime warranty and $50,000 Equipment Protection Policy (EPP). 6 surge protected outlets. 4 ft. power cord Basic protection against power surges for computers and electronics

Data-line protection - Protection of data lines (Ethernet, Coaxial and Phone lines) ensures complete protection of your equipment from surges. It is very important to protect your equipment from “back door” electric surges traveling through data lines, as they can be as damaging to your equipment as surges traveling over power lines. Safety Indicators Building Wiring Fault Indicator:This LED informs users of potentially dangerous wiring problems in the wall circuit. Protection Working Indicator: SurgeArrest will warn you if its circuitry has been damaged by heavy strike or power line surge and it is unable to provide 100% protection. If still under warranty, APC will then replace your damaged SurgeArrest free of charge.

Convenient peace of mind - Most other surge suppressors continue to let power through even after their circuits have been damaged, leaving your equipment exposed to future surges. APC's SurgeArrest fail safe, which means that once the circuit of an APC SurgeArrest has been compromised the unit disconnects equipment from the power supply ensuring that no damaging surges reach your equipment.

Not compatible with gigabit ethernet
Normally i turn to apc for all things surge protection, but they really dropped the ball on this one. As of this moment, the outletpc detail page simply says "ethernet protection", which by 2016 standards would imply that it is compatible with all household ethernet speeds, including gigabit ethernet. However, the product packaging and installation manual both clearly state "10/100 baset". It's a shame this wasn't designed to work with gigabit ethernet. The copyright date on the product packaging is 2011, but even by 2011 all of the ethernet lines in my house were gigabit ethernet. Anybody who cares about the speed of their network should stay away from this outdated product. I'm returning mine. And why's it beige? Seriously? Beige desktop computers went the way of the dodo over a decade ago. Why can't the manufacturers of power strips keep up? Make it black to match the computer, or white to match most newer houses' receptacles, but please not beige.
