Cheap, resistent, standard cherry mx 104 keys keyboard.
I am buying another rosewill keyboard because. I am very satisfacted of it.But if course i will be honest in this review. It comes very well packaged, it's sturdy, it has a metal base, and i would say a bit heavy, it doesn't move when on the table. On the back there are 4 large adhesive rubber feet and the usual two plastic feet to raise the keyboard. There is with no software at all, the keyboard is detected by all operating systems (even macos and linux)it comes with two detachable cotton braided cords: mini-usb to ps/2 and mini-usb to usb-aon the keyboard side, the mini-usb connector it is l shaped to the left, so your computer case should be put on your left (or you should buy another mini-usb cable)qualityi'm not speaking about cherry-mx switches because their quality is well known. This keyboard model uses the original cherry-mx blue switches so expect a nice loud clicky sound as it should be.Tactile feeling is really enjoyable, but please, if you (or your wife) like silent typing, choose another switch color (maybe cherry-mx red).Keyboard layout:the special keys are all written in symbols+letters, i mean <-backspace, ^shift, insert, delete, print screen. There are no keys with symbols only like arrows or shortened words. The keys are in standard layout, i mean 12345 is down, !@#$% is up, as it should be.I've seen many good keyboards with symbols reverted or just printed in the same row like this 1! 2@ [{ \| and i don't like them.I am really careful when i when i choose a keyboard even if i know i can replace keycaps, but this keyboard comes just perfect.Keyboard has 4 blue leds: 3 on num, caps, scroll, and 1 on f12 keythis key is semi-transparent so you can see when the windows keys are disabled (blue led is on).The blue led lights are not dimmable and maybe in the night you could find f12 key a bit too brightthere are no other leds/backlight in this keyboard.Addictional functions:fn+f12 activates gaming mode (windows key is disabled)fn+f1, fn+f2,... Fn+f8 activate the media keys under f1,f2...F8.Those addictional keys are home, email, previous, next, play/pause, mute/unmute, vol-, vol+default of f1 is f1, not homewhat i don't like :after only 4 months of use, some of the labels on the keycaps start to wear out and they dim a bit.For example for me the left shift, a,s,d,c,l keys are dark grey now, but this is not a problem for me because i type without looking too much to the keyboard, and caps are standard so maybe later they can be replaced.Mechanical keyboard makers in order to have one more key (the fn) often replace the right window key with fn.In this case you can still use the left one. This is the right choice, in my opinion.Unfortunately some other keyboard makers choose to replace the right mouse key with fn.In this keyboard there is no right mouse key (the context menu), because there is the fn key.I have found a workaround: in case you need it, you can obtain the right mouse key on the keyboard by pressing shift+f10
