Don't buy this!!
Tried to use this with a mouse and keyboard - didn't work. I am told by our computer technicians that it is just a bad design. The issue is power. It tries to take the power for one item and distribute it to multiple items - doesn't work even just for 2!!!!Absolute pieces of trash.

Durable
I've been using this port for several years now with it constantly on and it continues to work as expected. Small, but does the job.

Works great
Needed something for my work computer as it is mounted under the desk and the only accessible usb port in the front of the computer is behind the cover and at the very bottom. Plugged this unit in and it works seamlessly. Speed is great and the cord is the right length for my needs.

Not reliable
I bought this because i only have one usb port left working on my 2012 acer laptop (really acer?). This is not reliable at all. I used it with flash drives, a wireless mouse, wired keyboard and external harddrive (at separate times, not all at once) and in each case it worked only intermittently. I guess that's what i get for buying so cheap. If you're looking for something like this, i know the price is right, but i would pay extra and get something that actually works.

So so.....
Definite items do not charge through this unit; as was explained to me by best buy rep, some units need a bit higher power to charge, but this is a lower power unit that passes current through usb.

Very clever .. When you need to connect many things to your computer.
Want to connect a lamp, a computer fan, a separate keyboard ... You may need one of these. I have several.

Works well
Usb hub that was cost effective and serves me well. Not very expensive i really recommend this hub for its cost and durability

Can't use all 4 ports
The problem with these usb extensions is that if you plug something in that draws a lot of power, it won't work, and this unit is no exception. I can plug my wireless mouse in it ( b/c i wanted the mouse 'receiver' on the right side of the computer, and all usb ports are on the left) so it serves my purpose. However, if i plug an mp3 into it as well, that's about all it can handle. I just want people to be aware that you can't plug anything and everything into all the ports and expect it to work. Hope this helps...

Cool
I used this awesome piece of hardware to connect my computer to other things on my desk.I never could of done it withiut this awesome device.

Extends simple usb use.
Works for things like thumb drives, mouse or keyboard, but can reduce power to devices that rely on full usb wattage. Case in point, a small scanner powered by usb only will not run on a hub like this. You would need a powered version.
