FAQ & Section Info
What are the benefits of a wired keyboard?
Wired computer keyboards excel at many features that wireless just can't quite keep up with. Input speed is the main one, in hat wired keyboards, especially those with PS/2 connections, have higher n-key rollover efficiency. Other great features with wired keyboards are you don't need to change batteries and they generally have a similar or lower cost for a greater number of features. Mechanical Keyboards are pretty much all wired, and these offer great tactile feedback and higher responsiveness with fine-tuned keys built for gaming.
What wired keyboard should I buy?
You've got a wide selection to choose from, with varying costs and features on these wired keyboards. You could go cheap and simple with a basic keyboard with just the standard kays and number pad, or if you wanted some extra control at the tip of your fingers, you could get a keyboard with extra media controls and application hot keys. If you find that you type for large portions of time on end, you'll probably want to invest a good ergonomic keyboard to keep your wrists and arms healthy. But if gaming is your thing, then you might want to go with something a bit more featureful such as a mechanical keyboard, many of which have programmable keys and on-the-fly macro recording.
What is an illuminated or backlit keyboard?
A backlit or light up keyboard is a style of keyboard where the keys are cut and designed so that a light shined behind them (usually colored red, blue, or green) illuminates the keys. Backlit keyboards are popular with gameras and people who type in low-light and dim sutuations. While many people think they're traditionally a "gamer keyboard", in reality everyone can benefit by using a keyboard with lighted keys as they become more pronounced and easier to read regardless of what you're doing on the computer.
