A great usb 3.0 addition to your build
Seems to be working fine, though it was just installed a few minutes ago! I almost didn't order this one based off of the 1 star review by "paul" because i have the same motherboard as he and i was worried i would suffer a similar fate. Not so.I will say this: the mini disc that comes with the card didn't install the driver right. So i went to syba's website for the driver and windows finally gave me the green check mark (i'm as well running windows 7 x64). I plugged in my 3.0 extension and then a 3.0 flash drive and transferred a 100mb file. Done in a flash with barely a chance for the transfer file window to pop up.However, i cannot comment on the complete functionality as i have not yet used the internal 3.0 header, which is the main reason i got this card. My motherboard only has 1 usb 3.0 header, and it is right now used for my corsair carbide 300r front panel (which works beautifully as well). I will use the second header for a memory card reader with a 3.0 on the front, as soon as it gets delivered! I'll try to follow up on this review after i've tested out the card for awhile. Why i chose this card over the many now available:- it has a 3.0 internal 19 pin header, not an internal 3.0 hub.- it's printed on a black circuit board, so it matches my mobo and case and everything else ("black" is my theme)- it's slim and small- the price is very decentwhat would make it better:- using a sata power connection instead of the lp4... Or at least including a cheap adapter- including a better driver in the box??Overall, totally satisfied with this purchase so far, but time will tell (and then i'll tell you).Update: 8 months later, no complaints with this product. I've purchased a second card for use in another build and it as well worked flawlessly. Here's a tip for easy access to the latest driver (from the included instructions): visit www [dot] drivers [hyphen] download [dot] com, in the drivers search section, enter this download code: dl-0313102. Unzip and install, then do a restart. Enjoy!

Excellent choice for upgrading to usb 3
I badly needed a card to add usb 3.0 ports to my pc. I first bought a card from another retailer which resulted in a disastrous outcome. I lost 2 hdds and my board became almost obsolete and unusable. Since their support was not of much help, and since when confronted with the argument that i am prepared to send them back not only their defective card but as well one of the drives that went out, they stopped emailing me, i decided to go for this card.It wasn't automatically recognized by windows 7, but after loading the proper drivers it is working pretty good. So no complaints and that is the reason why i gave the card 5 stars, and strongly recommend it.

Syba sd-pex20122 2 port usb 3.0 with 19 pin header pci-e x1 card
I needed a card for extra usb 3.0 connection (like the connectors on a motherboard) to connetc a device to the front of my computer. This was just what i needed. Works great.

Does the job
I got this to connect a new usb 3.0 external hard drive and it works fine. My asus computer motherboard has a usb 3.0 port, but i've had trouble with it. This card solved the problem for me.

Installed easily
Download the updated driver from the web site listed in the instructions and this card installs easily. I had to return one from a different maker because i couldn't get it to install.

It works
Works and i can connect my second usb 3.0 header for the front of my computer to this card, perfect.

Unable to install on windows 8
I was unsuccessful installing on windows 8 / 64 bit / dell hardware, despite multiple driver attempts (cd or downloads). After removing the card, my pc would not start. It required a few hours of work to restore it.I did get the card & drivers to install on a win 7 / 32 bit / velocity micro pc, but was unable to use it to access any usb flash devices (2.0 or 3.0). Removal was uneventful. It could just be a sample outletpc. Was great with returns, as always.

How many pins?
According to syba, this model of usb 3.0 pci-e card has a 20 pin usb 3.0 connector, not a 19 pin connector as stated in the description. This is very convenient considering syba (and probably others) sells a 3.5" usb 3.0 panel for the front of the computer which connects to a 20 pin usb 3.0 connector.Don't be confused, as i was when trying to match a usb 3.0 panel with a 20 pin connector to a card with a usb 3.0 20 pin output.

Some problems with installation
I've downgraded my rating because it quit working. I got almost 3 years out of it.I first plugged this card into a pci-e x1 slot. The card allegedly is compatible with x1. It does work ok in that slot, however, when in that slot it causes my computer to reboot immediately after being shut down.I did have an open pci-e x8 slot, so switched the card over and now everything is normal.I have a gigabyte ga-p55a-udp4 mother board if that makes a difference.Reading the manual, i see that when plugged into an x1 slot thru put is half of of what it would be in an x2 or higher slot.
