Works okay
I got this to use with my laptop to transfer stuff from internal sata to a new ssd. This seems to work okay for accessing my sata disks, but i wish for a shorter usb cable. The cable is 3ft long and quite thick, so for laptop use it is quite unwieldy - i have seen adapters that use much shorter and more flexible cables.

Great for external ssd
Using this with my external ssd. Works great over usb 3.0 and 2.0. The cable is kind of thick and rigid so i am using a spare usb 3.0 cable i had from an older drive.

Excellent product
Does what it says, i've been very satisfied with this product. Pretty cheap too.It will power an ssd (but not a 3.5" mechanical drive, at least none that i tried).I get full usb3.0 transfer speeds with an ssd too, which is amazing considering usb3.0 is almost as fast as sata3. This is a great alternative if you're out of sata3 ports on your motherboard and need to plug in more ssds once in a while.

What more is there to say? This is ideal for a 2.5 inch ssd. Very necessary when transferring data from an old hdd or ssd drive. Great price, highly recommended. Fast transfer!!!

Does what is says.
The cable works fine, it privded me with a good speed, however if you move the cable in definite ways it will unplug either form the sata conecction or the usb part of the adapter. But overall it works. One tip for those chainging hdd or upgradind to ssd, you better buy an enclosure case, you can useit as a cable to migrate your data an then to put in your old ssd/hdd and use it as a backup, and you can find enclosure for the same price as this cable.

Do not waste your money on this product
Background: i am an enterprise deployment project engineer for a major computer products/services provider. I have built every desktop computer i have ever owned, from the motherboard up.Pros: compact, easily transportable.Cons: does not maintain connection. Uselesstroubleshooting steps taken:high-pressure air blast to remove possible particulate matter. Used 4 different usb 3.0 connection cables. Connected device to five different hdd's on four different computers (one linux mint 14, one windows 7, and two windows 8). Connection always lost after one to two minutes. All five hdd's were 2.5" laptop drives, and known good, with other connectors. This product is cheap for a reason: it doesn't work. It is quite possible that i simply got a bad unit. I'm not willing to risk buying another, however, since i have ordered several different types, and this is the only one that has ever failed so miserably.

Had to return it
Product description states "works with all sata drives". I tried it between known good usb 3.0 ports and three different 3.5" sata3 drives, and it didn't work with any of them. Kingwin tech support was totally unresponsive. I've since learned that 5 volts from a usb port is insufficient to power a 3.5" hard drive. So this device may have worked with sdd or 2.5" sata drives, but it was useless with my 3.5 inchers.

This cord did not work with windows 8.....
This cord did not work while trying to clone a samsung 840 pro ssd drive to windows 8. Don't buy if you have windows 8! Would rate lower if i could!
