Seems to work ok, but i have had quite a few disconnects when using the e-sata connector. The ide connector seems to work well on my z-97a motherboard but i did have to adjust some of the pci settings to get the card to initialize.

Good, but please read!
-if you are going to attach a pata/ide device to this controller, you need to set it to slave mode. If you set it to detect or set it to master... It will slow your system boot up time by 2-3 minutes.-you need to read the instructions on how to update both drivers. There are 2 drivers that need to be set. If you do not... You will notice strange behavior (like seeing an eject button for an internal hard drive).-if you want a more up-to-date driver... You can also update the firmware/bios for the card using station-drivers... But do so at your own risk. You could accidentally not just brick the card... But your motherboard!-know that you will not ever achieve 6gbps... Because pci-e interface only supports up to 5. But, thats probably ok.-i wouldn't suggest using an ssd with a card like this. And i would not put your primary hard drive on a device like this.-this uses a marvell chipset. Many modern cards/controllers use an intel chipset. You may want to consider using an intel based one.-this esata port is not powered. You will likely need a special cable that draws dc/usb power if your device requires 5v.

Works with Linux
This card requires the kernel parameter libata.Force=xx:udma5 to be added to the linux kernel command line to make the pata port run at full speed. Windows will run the pata port at full speed by default.

which does not guarantee that the next CD has good driver files
The cd that was included had a corrupted driver file. There was apparently no way to request a new cd be shipped, only a return, which does not guarantee that the next cd has good driver files.
