Description

The innovative DAC "Double Airflow Channle", opened small windows on each layer of heatsink has enabled Gammaxx S40 to maximum surface exposure for heat dissipation. Gammaxx S40 is created with CCT "Core Touch Technology" that allows direct heat transfer from CPU to heatsink. Great compatibility has made GAMMAXX S40 one of the most ideal choices for CPU cooler.

Great but, not sure at first but now totally happy with it.
I have to admit, this is a great and cheap solution for anyone wanting to lose some temperature in their cpus.First, i use this at a intel core i7 4790k, which with the stock fan had around 52ºc on idle and 85~90ºc on load (it's summer in here) this, with the turbo boost enabled, while disabled it had around 46º on idle and 75ºc on load. Now (with turboboost) i have 37ºc on idle and 56ºc on load. The installation for 1150 is pretty easy, it uses the same system as the stock cooler, with the pin-push thingies, pretty straight forward and it as well has pre-applied thermal compound on the surface.Tl;dr: worth the money, even if you are not playing to overclock your cpu, in some cases it is better to replace stock cooler, such as the fx8300 series from amd (throttling at 80ºc) or some haswell processor such as the 4790k (throttling at 100ºc which we don't want to see).My build: core i7 4790k @turboboost 4.4ghz@1.22v, asus maximus vi formula, 16gb hyperx 1866mhz, msi armor rx480 4gb, 2x1.5tb samsung hdd. 2x120mm fans in the front, 1x120mm fan on the rear and 2 dust filtered air intakes on the side.

Better than expected
This is an excellent hsf for the money, easily as good as anything that costs twice as much. Keeps my socket 1366 x5660 processors nice and cool, under 50c at full load, and the fans is very quiet while doing so. I was expecting mediocre performance from a relatively unknown brand, but am pleasantly surprised. I'll definitely buy again. My motherboard couldn't use the 1366/2011 mounting hardware in the kit, so i had to purchase some screws from the hardware store to replace the ones that came with the hsf, but that's no flaw of this heatsink, since i'm using a consumer hsf with a server motherboard.
