Very solid purchase
This logitech m570 is great. I work on either a desktop computer or laptop most of the day pretty much every day, and my wrist started bothering me when my work volume increased. The mouse at my job was just really tiny and uncomfortable. I bought one of these and tried using it a few different ways, given the review by mlalahoi, and found it was best for me to just leave it flat. It's really about where i have the m570 positioned while i'm working, in terms of how comfortable it is to use it. I can't work with it too close to me or the keyboard, and if i'm using it on my bed i need it to sit on top of something to give it some height instead of flat on the bed, where it's too low.It takes a little bit of adjustment, and there are a couple of things i can't really get used to after using it for over 4 months. One is, as a woman with medium-sized hands, it is hard to get a good grasp on it if i'm picking it up. And i think even my boss, who is a man, has dropped it on the ground once because the one he bought me for work was scratched up one monday morning when i came in. I've dropped it at home, and one time it even slammed into my laptop...Which, i've already had one fairly recently get its screen busted from dropping an iphone on it (the only two things i really ever drop are the phone, which is rare but it's the big iphone plus, and this m570), so...The drop-ability of this device is a problem if you're going to be moving it around instead of just leaving it on a desk. It is just a lot bigger than most mouses, and its odd shape doesn't help. The other thing is i find it very hard to select text with this m570. The amount of time i spend trying to copy and paste the exact text i want nowadays has definitely increased because i usually either end up selecting too much text or not enough with this mouse. Fast but precise movement is just kind of challenging with this, i guess because you really have to get used to using a rolling ball.Other than those things, i really like it. I was concerned about maybe having to clean the ball and ball slot often, from reading the reviews, but that's not the case at all. I think i have cleaned it once or twice in the 4 months i've had the one i use at home, and even less for the one i have at work. The ball movement has never been a problem, and the ball as well stays in place just great and still comes out easily when you want it to. It can take some computers/laptops over a minute to install the drivers for this mouse when you first plug it in--i think i've had the longest wait times with windows 7 computers/laptops. But it works on all the windows systems i've tried it on, and after you get past the installation the reception and mouse movement are always great.
