One of the best cheap routers out there
Where to begin? I bought this long ago for ~ $15 at a bargain store. I've never regretted it.Pros:*extremely reliable - never drops a connection (maybe 1-2 times over 3 years? And that was probably my fault).*i can max it out at 116 mbs with a wired connection (very good throughput).*i receive an a or b rating on all latency tests in the usa (depending on location)*a workhorse -- the little router that can and will surprise you.Cons: nothingi recently started using this router again after another router i had broke. I had a cheap gigabit router (a d-link 657) that i tried to toy around with, but it's seriously one of the worst routers of all time. So i broke this bad boy out as kind of a last resort (because it's only 10/100 mbps wired speeds). Granted, i've had this thing for years, and it's always been very dependable and reliable. Now that i've got a faster connection, i was wondering if this thing could keep up.On speed tests, i get around 116 mbps / sec, very consistently maxing it out.On my phone with wifi, i get around 30 mbps down / 5 mbps up (on a 50 mbps connection).I haven't tried my other wifi devices, but i'm sure i'll get around 50 mbps.I know it's an old router that's on the brink of being extinct, but if you want something cheap to tide you over, this is more than sufficient! I won't upgrade because i don't need anything faster than what this router can handle, and it's reliability and ease of use cannot be beaten.
