The least reliable of my smart home devises
Of all the smart devices in my home these smart bulbs give me the most issues. First off, these are large and heavy bulbs and wouldn't fit in one of my ceiling fans with an enclosed globe because they stick out way to far. I had to buy a lifx mini for that fixture. Set up was more difficult than it should be because the app had trouble finding the bulbs. Once they are set up they seem to work well, they are responsive whether using the app or voice commands with google assistant. But, i recently had a 12 hour outage and when the power came back on all my other devices were automatically up and ready to use within about 2 minutes with no additional configuration except for the tp-link bulbs. The wemo smart plug, lifx smart bulb, chromecast and google home all on and responding but the tp-link smart bulbs all had to be set back up and it took about an hour to get that done because the app once again couldn't find them. All 4 of them took multiple tries to get set back up even when it looked like i finally had them working. I don't know if it's a problem with the bulbs or the app. I was hoping to switch everything to tp-link but they are just too frustrating. I'm thinking about just tossing them and replacing with the lifx which are much more reliable and easy to set up.

I love being able to use my alexa devices to turn things on and off. Wonderful!!!!
I have one of these in my living room and one in my bedroom. I love being able to question alexa to turn these lights on and off, and as well be able to choose the dimness setting.

Don't bother
Very difficult to set up with alexa or any 3rd party app. Pretty much stuck with the kasa app on your mobile device, and can only make changes while at home and connected to your local home network. Power outages cause the entire system to lose sync, and resetting everything is an extremely time consuming hassle. Spend the extra money for a bigger name brand that will be a lot more versatile and reliable.

Awesome product
I love the ability to turn off my bedroom light at night without having to get up and flip the switch and as well the ability to schedule times for the light to turn off and on. As well being able to change the bulbs color, warmer or cooler makes it were anyone can adjust the bulb to their preference.

One bulb works great, add more than one and in you are in for a world of trouble
I've had three of these bulbs and two plugs installed in my living room for the last two years. Having just a single bulb connected to the app and connected to alexa works great! However...Once i added a second, my nightmare began. One light bulb failed completely (it happens...It's electronics after all); but the other five devices cannot stay on the network consistently for any length of time. It's gotten so bad that we're now going back to regular light-bulbs.At first, i thought it might be something with my router or with alexa; but i've gone through three different routers and alexa works with everything else in the house without a problem.Scanning the tp-link support boards will give loads of similar problems with these devices. Their android app isn't great either and constantly crashes, locks up, and fails to connect to the various tp-link devices in the house.I wouldn't invest any more money in their devices until they fix the problems inherent in their wifi chips and in their android app.

Fair quality ... Horrible support
I only tried these because they were essentially free through a rewards program at work and i was curious about getting into iot things. I have seven of these for a few months; five have worked flawlessly, one had to be re-'paired' a couple times, and one has been problematic from day one in that it would not stay paired and now cannot be paired at all. I like the capabilities of the wireless bulbs, and the smartphone application is ok, but they seem to be trying to continually update it (eg: adding more scene icons). However, when it comes to support, it is absolutely painful. The language barrier and technical competence of the phone service reps makes the actual 'support' almost non-existent. Trying to get an rma is almost impossible, requiring the repeated demand for further testing and lengthy questioning almost unbearable. Albeit very expensive for what it is, it still is just a light bulb. If one has proof of purchase and it doesn't work, most companies would just replace it. It took a half-dozen calls and two months to get an rma, totaling over three hours on the phone with people who just refused to believe me it was bad, and trying to show me i had done something wrong, even though i had perfect success setting up six other bulbs. If the rest of them and the replacement works well for a long time, i will probably keep them and perhaps add more later. If not, since they were essentially free to me, i will trash them and wait to try another brand someday. No hurry ... Iot has a long way to go; just like microsoft did back in the early windows era. And this company has a long way to go in learning how to run a support department that believes in service and respects customers.

Disappointed
I have tp-link smart plugs so i thought i'd buy 4 light bulbs for the porch to use with alexa. However, these have been nothing but problems. I managed to set the up once, link them to my wifi and have alexa turn them off on and on. But then i needed to get a new router and sinc them have not been able to link them to my wifi. I can't return them to their factory setting, which means i can't get them to "forget" my old router. I've as well noticed previously that whenever the electricity goes out, tp-link products (at least these bulbs and the plugs) don't reset themselves automatically. I have to unplug them and start almost from scratch which is why i have yet been unable to link these bulbs to my new router. It's a great concept and i love the idea of a smart home, but not all of it works as well as it should. These don't seem to work well.

Keeps disconnecting from app
This can be a good smart bulb if tp link can fix the disconnecting problem. The set up is very easy and should be for a consumer product. However, the bulb keeps disconnected from the kasa app. Sometimes it will reconnect. Most of the time it will not. The only way to make the bulbs appear in the app again is to disconnect the iphone from wifi and reconnect wifi. This is either a software or firmware problem with the bulb. The tp link smart plug does not disconnect from the kasa app.
