I upgraded my pc a few months ago, and the new motherboard has usb 3.0 ports. However, they are located on the back of the computer now, and my computer sits under my desk. I have one usb 3.0 device, a flash drive, and it is a pitn (a g-rated pita) to get down under the desk to plug it in. I had considered a usb 3.0 hub, but they have remained fairly pricey, and i really only have this one device now ....Enter the usb extender cable. I plug it into one of those rear usb 3.0 ports, thread the cable up and tuck it under my keyboard so i can plug my usb 3.0 drive into an extended usb 3.0 port without getting under the desk. Boom. Problem solved. This one is of good quality: the cable itself is pretty thick (about 5mm) and flexible. The blue is a medium shade, and serves as a reminder that you have it connected to usb 3.0 (the port header itself is blue with usb 3.0).It's a good quality cable and i recommend it.
