Description

Crucial BX100 2.5" 250GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD). This Crucial 250 GB 2.5" Internal Solid State Drive is more than 15 times faster than current internal hard drives, delivering 535 MB/s sequential reads on both compressible and incompressible data.Outlast and outperform your hard drive. Boot up almost instantly. Load programs in seconds. And accelerate demanding applications with ease. It all starts with ditching your hard drive. Engineered to outperform a hard drive and deliver cost-effective performance, the Crucial BX100 leverages advanced flash memory technology and moves your computer beyond the outdated storage limitations of spinning discs. By transmitting data in a digital manner rather than having to seek it out on a spinning platter, the Crucial BX100 is over 15x faster, 2x more reliable, and 2x more energy efficient than a typical hard drive.

The CT250BX100SSD1 solid state drive from Crucial features 250GB of storage size in a 2.5" form factor. This drive connects to your system via the SATA 6 Gb/s interface so make sure you have an available port on your compatible motherboard. A solid state drive uses flash memory so there are no moving parts or rotational speed measurements. Advanced features of this SSD include a MLC NAND type and Silicon Motion SM2246EN controller.

Entry level, but can prolong the life of older pcs and laptops.
This entry level ssd brought life back to an aging computer. An old i3, 500gb hdd was very, very slow and sluggish.Took over 2 minutes to boot, software froze occasionally, bsod every few days (on win 8.1).Then i installed this ssd, which is not that different than other entry level ssds, but since crucial is as solid as any of the others, i chose it.The laptop became usable again. Wakes up from sleep mode instantaneously, boot time is around 30 seconds, nothing freezes or hangs any more.Installing this ssd saved the life of the old laptop who will stay with us for a few more years to come...

A fast, solid drive at a good price.
Ok, i have waited nearly a year since i brought my first of these drives (i now own 3) before i decided to write this review. Building a new computer i wanted a drive that would boot up fast, and as well run programs faster. So after doing a little research decide to try one of these crucial bx100 ssd drives. Using a generic (freeware) software that i found i was able to clone my old drive onto the new ssd. And from the start i had no problems, using windows 10 my computer booted up in seconds, instead of minutes. I do a lot of photo editing and in the past i would begin to save an edited photo and had to wait for up to 3 minutes for it to finish, now i can keep going saving one after another with no issues. Now to be honest, i did upgrade my whole computer (processor, memory, motherboard, etc.) so a lot of things added to the speed, but the actual time it took to write to the file was notably faster. In the time that i have owned the ssd i have had no issues with it and i use my computer daily. I have even added 2 more of these drives to the same computer for photos and other data, while leaving the first one for just programs. After using these, i don't think i would ever go back to a normal hard drive again.

Worked for one year. Then it died.
Worked great for exactly one year. Now it won't work. Can't erase can't unmount. Now it's a paperweight. Pretty much sucks.

Love it. Fast but i worry how long it ...

Consider this !
The smartest thing i have added to my older gigabyte/intel dual-core pc!. I loaded all my files onto a new larger wd green hard drive. I then reloaded windows pro and all my programs (office pro, adobe suite etc.) onto the crucial 250gb ssd. Wow, what a performance difference. Since the files are only occasionally accessed this ssd+hd arrangement provides a major improvement at a very reasonable cost. The system boots very quickly and runs much cooler - needless to say, opening programs takes a second or less. I should state that prior to this i upgraded the pc's ram and installed a very robust video card.

And they are working great. Low power
After upgrading from an hdd, boot up times for my laptop went from 180 seconds to 23 seconds. I have purchased two of these now, and they are working great. Low power, good price, good performance.

Great product, recommended if you want a good quality ...
My computer boots quite fast with this ssd, got it when it was on discount. Great product, recommended if you want a good quality ssd for your build.

Niceand fast
These are great for putting the basic system on a computer. Superfast boot times compared to old electromechannical rigs. Keep an image handy and when something breaks blast it.

It's all good!

It's so much better than using an hdd
I use it to boot windows and for definite games. It's so much better than using an hdd.
