Feels good, some great features, lots of connection options, software dependent for custom features
This mouse has a lot going for it, but it has some features that i just wasn't super excited about for my gaming style. First, the positives. This mouse can run in wired mode, or wireless via 2.4ghz dongle for 1ms response time or bluetooth with slightly more delay, but it's fine for everyday use. The egronomics are good and the mouse feels good to use. There is an interchangeable magnetic piece you can change if you want a pinky rest, but the thumb rest is not removable on this mouse, the corsair icue software has been updated from the old corsair utility engine to help better sync all your rgb and settings, assuming they are compatible with icue. The settings are easy to change, and i had no trouble saving settings, but the mouse has to be wired to do so for some reason. The software is as well my biggest complaint about this mouse. It has to be running in the background or you will not get any of the functionality of the extra buttons, like the sniper button. For some people, this may not be a big issue, and i guess it's necessary to remap the buttons since they are not common to most mice, but it was something i am not used to as a primarily fps player. The top buttons next to the left mouse click are mapped to dpi by default, and are easy to push accidentally if you aren't used to a mouse like this. The scroll wheel feels decent, but definitely not the same quality level as something like the logitech g900, which has a prominent click and an overall better quality feel, while as well being lighter than the dark core rgb. These are 2 very different mice, so i'm not comparing them here, just wanted to point out the differences with the scroll wheels. The final thing i had to get used to but ended up working ok were the 2 side buttons. Because of the sniper button in the middle, the side buttons are spaced out a lot, which takes some getting used to if you have played a lot with a standard gaming mouse.I adjusted to this fairly quickly but it's still a little weird to me, even after a lot of hours using this mouse. As a non-gaming mouse, this is great. I wouldn't recommend paying this much just for a general purpose computer mouse, but you may find the look and feel suitable for non-gaming use. You can map the buttons to macro functions easily using the icue software, and i found the mouse comfortable to hold for hours at a time in normal use. This mouse is a lot different than i expected, but i do think it has a place for definite game types and play styles. The overall quality is good, and i'd definitely recommend it to someone who will use the sniper button a lot, or likes the button layout of this mouse, which is more than the standard gaming mouse without adding 20 extra buttons on the side. The rgb features are nice, and can sync with you computer and keyboard rgb if you have compatible accessories which is kind of interesting. I think i will be sticking to my g900 and my corsair glaive - rgb gaming mouse, which i have grown to love after many hours of use. A mouse is a very personal thing and hard to recommend to a stranger, but hopefully this review helped narrow down your decision.
